Well we first want to thank everyone that came out last night to our welcome back show!  We can't thank you guys enough for the love and support that you give us every time we go out there and play.  Second we want to thank anyone that came and bought our EP and herd us for the first time.  We love making new fans and meeting new people, if it wasn't for you we wouldn't be able to play these place so thank you guys again!!!  On the next agenda, we are starting to get back into the swing of things for everyone and start playing shows again.  We know this is what you guys wanted to hear and it's something that we really are happy to tell you guys.  So please keep a look out for the upcoming updates and show information on here  and on our myspace or facebook account.  We hope you all had a blast last night and that we see you all soon.  Will be posting new videos on our youtube account as well so make sure you check that out.  Everyone have a happy holidays and we will talk to you all real soon!!!

Well well it's been a much needed time away from everything that we were up to all of last year with the release of our first ever EP Out of the Basement.  We are glad to inform all of you that we are back and ready to start this journey and get back into the swing of things with all of you.  We want to thank all of you for checking the website all the time and finding out what was going on with us.  As time was going by after our last show, we Middleweight have been working on brand new music for a full length record that we have been planning on recording for some time now.  We have been taking this time to go back to the basics for each other and get better at our instruments as well as becoming better musicians.  As for that we have a show on December 19 in Elk Grove Village back at Rainbow Falls with our new good friends Our Story After All.  We are really looking forward to this welcome back show and plan on making a big return with a great show.  We really encourage all of you that are in the Chicago area to really try and make it out to this show.  We'll be playing new music and have a new sense of how to make a show now a days worth coming to.  We are gonna start updating more up here adding some videos and maybe some even free downloads.  We are glad to be back and we missed all of you, we really hope to see your faces on December 19th at 5:30 at Elk Grove Village Rainbow Falls.  More details will be posted when we get closer but start spreading the word now!!!  Keep on rockin!!!

And so goes another month in our lives that shoots by.  Hope all is well with everyone Vince, Ryan, Michael, and I want to let you know that we are totally planning a bunch of shows for
the months  of August, September, as well as October.  We are also trying to get a little bit of a head start and try
 and get on Summerfest for next years as well as other festivals that go on during the summer.  Also I'm sure you've
herd us talking about new music and may have even herd some if you went to a show in the past month.  Well
we are currently working on a FULL LENGTH album were hoping to start recording in the late of fall.  No word
on what the album will be called but we've been really working hard on making this album and all the songs as 
great as they can be for all of you.  We are very proud of what we've made so far and can't wait for you to hear 
them.  Let see other than that, we hope that all of your summers are going well and for those of you who
we made friends with at the couple of events we went to and handed out demos we hope that you are 
enjoying the music and spreading the word about Middleweight.  There is a new video up in our video page for
what Vince and I did last month.  Go check it out hope to see you all soon and we'll be posting more soon!!

HEYYYYYY!!! So a couple of short things to let you all know about since it's been some time since we've last made contact with any of you.  So this friday we are sharring a stage with our good friend Lee Dewyze at Fox and Hound in Arlington Heights at 9:00 pm for a 21+ Show, so all of you that are of age we really hope that you can all come out and have a drink with us and enjoy good music and a good time.  Also some other things is that we will be going to Summer Fest in Wisconsin as well as Warped Tour up there to hopefully make some friends with people that we may not know (this could even be you!!!)  will be handing out free 2 song demos of our EP 'Out of the Basement' and have some on us incase you want to buy one.  Also will be at some shows around chicago to hand these out as well.  We're in the process of getting some new songs down and finished so that we can start recording out full length record.  Will probably be playing some new stuff on friday so please come out and listen!!  Also were trying to put together summer shows for people and even talking about a small midwest tour and maybe playing up at the Rave/Eagle Ballroom for the Lucky Boys Confussion show in August.  So keep checkin in on us from time to time and will be keepin you posted on upcoming things.  We miss you all and hope to see you at a show very soon!!!

It's been awhile since our last email/blog/message, so I wanted to give you the update on the band and what's to come...We are working on a professional new look for middleweightmusic.com, fine tuning new songs to put on our new record, and well spending time with love ones, and let's not forget about working the day job to pay the bills. And we know it's been a while, first will let you know that unfortunately we didn't move on in the Battle for the Congress.  It was still a good show for us and we hoped that if you were there or watched it online enjoyed it as well.  So what have we been doing, well first off we've been in talks with T-Shirts and that for us would be huge so that all of you who support us could finally wear us on you and show people about a cool band that you really like and support.  As for the summer we are in the works of having consistent shows for us and for you so we can start playin again I know for myself I miss playing shows in front of all of you cause you all hype me up when I'm out there.  Through out our website we finally got new pictures done for us so take a look and let us know what you think by emailing us at middleweight@middleweightmusic.com  also something else is that for those of you who didn't know we have a podcast at the top of the website that you can download for free to get to know Ryan and Vince, the two guitarists of the band and will soon have one on myself and Michael.  We plan on doing a mini tour of the Midwest in late summer to get those of you who saw us in Milwaukee a chance to see us again.  We've been really working hard on new material for you and to better ourselves show wise so you can go "wow the rock, I should tell my friends."  Don't forget, thanks to Mynd on Fyre and there help we have videos of our last show up on our main page so make sure you check them out.  Other than that feel free to send us an email we would love to hear from you and talk with all of you and find out what you like about the website and anything else.  Also keep track of us on Twitter.com/middleweight and our other sites on our links page.    Hello again everyone!!!  It's Smiley and Middleweight, giving you guys an update on things that are going on with us as of right now.  First we wanted to thank any of you that came out to the couple of shows last month and are looking forward future of the band.  I would first like to remind you that we still fighting to play warped tour and we need you all to keep voting every day!!!  Second we have a battle of the bands gig at the end of the month for those of you 21 and over so we hope to see you there.  Now for the bigger news!!!  Drum roll please....we are demoing out a lot of our new songs for a full length album that we are gonna start putting together.  As well as we are having someone put together a few designs for T-Shirts!!!  We know that you've all been asking for shirts so we are doing are best to get those out.  I hope that you are just as excited as we are that we are getting things done for all you to have, also we want to tell you that we are trying to work out a Midwest tour this summer as well as a ton of shows over the summer.  Hope all is well with everyone else and we hope to see you at the shows!!!  Don't forget if you don't have the EP "Out of the Basement" you can get a hard copy through us or on iTunes now!!

   Welcome to the month of March everyone!!!!  I hope people have been trying to stay warm over the Winter months but at the same time I hope you all have been gearing up for the Spring and Summer months ahead!!  We've been really looking forward to the months ahead, with shows being booked and an idea of a small Summer tour we have been ready to get back out there and see all of you once again.  So keep an eye out over at our Events page to see when and where were playing our next show.  We've also been hard at work really making the music we have stronger as well as writing new material for a full length (to be recorded in early fall).  Back to somethings for the Summer, we've just entered ourselves into the Warped Tour Battle of the bands!!!  Which is every bands dream to play this summer festival, but we need your help!!  One the right side of the page is a link to click and it will send you to the website to help us move forward in it.  The thing is you can vote once a day, but you can vote everyday so we ask for your help.  Who knows we may see you either at the Milwaukee, WI show or the Chicago, IL show which ever it is we just hope to see you there.  Don't forget we have a free downloadable podcast at the top of the page with an interview with our to guitarist in Middleweight Ryan and Vince so don't hesitate to download that.  Shoot us an email as well if you want us to play by you or if you want to just say hey.  Talk to you all soon.

  Hello good friends, things have been looking up for middleweight in the past couple of weeks.  Shows have been put together for the month of March were looking to have more and more all ages shows for all of you to come see us play.  Head on over to our events page and see where and what time we're playing at.    Hey everyone I know it's been a while but we've been really trying to settle down during the winter and make ourselves a lot better musicans and really focus on our songs to make them more enjoyable for when we start playing shows again.  We've got a couple big announcments that we really want to share with you!!!  One of which is the podcast that you can download right above this news feed has an interview with Ryan and Vince.  This is just the first of hopefully a few more just to kind of get to know us on a more personal level, so we really encourage you to download it and take a listen to what Ryan and Vince were asked about.  Following them will be an interview with Michael and myself, but for now get to know the two guitar players that play in Middleweight.  The other piece of news that we have is the fact that you can now go on iTunes and purchase "Out of the Basement EP"!!!!!  We can't tell you how excited we are to know that people can stumble across it and purchase it, it's just another way we hope that supporters like yourselves can enjoy our music too.  This is a big step for us so we encourage you if you haven't gotten the cd yet and since we haven't played a show that you can go shoot over to iTunes and get it right there and then!  As for upcoming shows we do plan to hopefully put a small tour together starting in spring time because we know how people hate going out in the negitive degree weather thats going on right now.     Well, welcome one and all to another entry from Middleweight!!!! Hope everyone has had a great return back to school, work or where ever it may be. A couple things that we wanted to point out was again to try and help us push forward in the Taste of Chaos sweepstakes, we could use all the votes from you and everyone that you know.  Also, we hope that if you own the new EP Out of the Basement that we thank you for getting it and listening to it, if you don't we have plenty of copies of it waiting to be purchased from us!!! Well hello hello hello one and all, it's been about a month since we've last talked to all of you and we are deeply sorry about that. We've been working on really trying to get this EP out to some independent lables by putting some press kits together, as well as trying to get our stage show better for all you. We are fortunate to those of you who have purchased the EP. We are so greatful that you all wanted it and are listening to it all the time. Keep telling your friends about it, buy it, and demand that your favorite venues let us play. We also would like to say Happy New Year to all of you and that we thank you for a great 2008. It was great to make this record for all of you and playing shows with eveyone that came out to see them.  Now to talk about a couple of things; we've started thinking about new album material but really want to push this EP so with your help we could really make "Out of the Basement" a great success.  Also we have entered into trying to play Taste of Chaos either in Chicago or in Milwaukee. So please go and vote for us at the link below. Hey Everyone I know it's been such a long time since you've herd from us, the fact that we haven't been able to set up an offical cd release show has been really hard for us and a big struggle.  We do however have a show opening up for CatFight at the Clearwater this Saturday at 10 pm.  As far as we know however it is only gonna be a 21 and older show.  Will really keep u informed with in the next day or so about more information.  We've been working really hard on getting press kits together so we can really get out there and even talk to a couple of independent lables to see what we can do about getting out there for fans like yourselves.  So will keep you updated as much as possible about things were trying to get accomplished.  Thanks for caring and staying up with our band, much love!

Hey Everyone big big news, we've finally finished all the long drawn out things on the EP and getting things situated.  We are sending the art work and master cd to our distributer and we should have them in our hands by October 25th.  So keep looking at our website for when it's finally here.  Also we are trying to set up more shows now that it's finally done and that we have that extra bounce to getting better shows for all u to finally see us again we've been working hard on new material and being better for you.  We're trying to figure out what were gonna do for our cd release show.  We've thrown some ideas around and I think the top place right now is the Clearwater Theatre so keep ur eyes and ears open for all that add stuff. Thanks to everyone that came up to Milwaukee yesterday to come see us at THE RAVE/EAGLES CLUB for the GC and the BLG show that we did last night.  We also appreciate the new fans we made last night as well, that stuck around to see us before the main show actually went on that was much appreciated to us for those of u that stayed.  We'll be finishing up our debut EP "Out of the Basement" on July 23rd and will hopefully have hard copies avalible to the public by early August.  So please be on the look out for that.  Thank you again from all of us at Middleweight we look forward to hearing or seeing you all at our next show.

MIDDLEWEIGHT will be taking the stage at, (((((6:20 p.m.))))) on the BAR STAGE which is right next to the MAIN STAGE. We will be playing a half hour set, right before The Maine goes on. We are the last band to play before 7 p.m. The BAR STAGE is open to all, so you don't have to be 21 to enter it...

We will be meeting and greeting people at 6 p.m. So get there before hand...

Hey, Everybody,
Yesterday, Tuesday June 24th, Middleweight finished recording their debut EP "Out of the Basement EP". We have one more day in the studio, before it is ready for your listening pleasure!!! The mini album will be complete on July 20th. We need to mix and master it. We expect to release it on the internet shortly after and phyical copies of our Ep will be available around the beginning of August.

We will be handing out, (FOR FREE) a rough mix of our single "Want You" off "Out of the Basement EP", at THE RAVE/EAGLE CLUB on JULY 9th..(But you have to be one of the first 50 people to arrive a the show)

Just a reminder, if you ARE planning on coming to The Rave/Eagle Club, in Milwaukee WI, on July 9th.. Tickets are going fast and space is limited. Middleweight will be opening for Boys Like Girls and Good Charlotte on July 9th at THE RAVE/EAGLE CLUB in Milwaukee, WI. We are playing on the side stage as of right now. This is a great honor but if we can get 150 loyal fans to come and show their support than we can play on the main stage with the headliners. We need all your support on this one show we can get to the main stage. So, come out and show us what you got. Tickets are $25 but its worth is to see 5 bands. That $5 a band. Middleweight will be playing with Johnny Rev at The Clearwater Theater in West Dundee, IL on June 27th. This is our first time playing this venue and we are very excited. The Clearwater Show is an 18 and over event. We apologize to the younger crowd. We will be having ALL AGES SHOWS in the near future. Hey Everybody, www.middleweightmusic.com is finally up a running!!  Currently we are in the process of recording our first EP called Out of the Basement the hope is to have this ready for you guy and girls by late July.  It's something were putting our full hearts into so u as our listener can hopefully relate to as well.  So if you want see us in the studio head over to our videos and catch the little video we put together.  We'll have one more by the time everything is all said and done so keep your eyes and ears open.
